These lessons are designed to encourage students to converse in Arabic about a wide range of topics—spanning daily life, culture, politics, the arts, literature, and more—with content, vocabulary, and ideas tailored to the student's proficiency level. A key objective is for the student to speak for 60–70% of the lesson time. To ensure effective performance during the session, the topic is assigned two or three days in advance, allowing the student to prepare mentally, recall relevant vocabulary, and gather any missing information. The teacher’s role is to facilitate the dialogue, pose questions, provide brief comments and enrich the student's responses where necessary, correct pronunciation or word usage, and prompt further discussion through probing and follow-up questions.
