A global online language-learning platform built around high-quality teaching, real community, and long-term learning.
Scolingo is a global online language-learning platform built around high-quality teaching, real community, and long-term learning.
It was created as an alternative to platforms that optimize for scale and convenience, while teachers and learners are left with fragmented experiences and little continuity. Scolingo is intentionally smaller, more thoughtful, and designed to support learning that actually lasts.
We are starting with online Serbian language lessons taught by carefully vetted teachers, and growing slowly into a broader European language ecosystem.
Beyond one-on-one language learning online, Scolingo is building an ecosystem that supports real integration and connection:
The goal is to make language learning feel sustainable, social, and meaningful — especially for people living, working, or building a life in a new country.
Scolingo was founded by Borivoje Đorđević, a language teacher and educator who has spent years helping students learn Serbian and other languages, both inside and outside traditional classrooms.
Long before building Scolingo, Borivoje was already teaching at scale. Through his language learning YouTube channel with over 80,000 subscribers, he has helped learners around the world improve their Serbian through clear explanations, structure, and cultural context. His content has reached a global audience of students looking for Serbian lessons online that go beyond memorization and quick tricks.
Through this work, Borivoje saw firsthand what many learners struggle with:
At the same time, he experienced the challenges teachers face when working with large online platforms — limited autonomy, unstable systems, and little room to build long-term relationships with students.
Scolingo was created as a response to that experience — as a teacher-first online language learning platform, built around structure, trust, and meaningful progress.
Today, his educational work continues through both Scolingo and his public language learning content.
Our teachers are the foundation of Scolingo.
We work with vetted teachers and language educators who bring expertise, care, and consistency to their students. By building a system that supports teachers — with fair conditions and autonomy — we create better outcomes for learners.
Good teaching creates good learning. Everything else follows.

Scolingo's goal is to grow into a global language-learning ecosystem, bringing together languages from all over the world — from widely spoken languages to endangered and underrepresented ones.
We want Scolingo to be a place where people don't just learn languages online, but connect through them — with teachers, cultures, histories, and communities. A platform where language becomes a bridge between people, not just a skill on a checklist.
As we grow, we're committed to expanding thoughtfully: supporting teachers, preserving linguistic diversity, and making space for languages that deserve to be taught, spoken, and passed on.
